What We Do
BJE builds Jewish education
BJE is one of the most important builders in the Los Angeles Jewish community – of Jewish education, Jewish families, Jewish identity and Jewish community leadership.
Through a wide range of programs and partnerships, BJE helps ensure that our community’s educators and institutions are the best they can be for our children and community. BJE leverages community resources to help increase accessibility and affordability of Jewish education, allowing as many Jewish families and children as possible to receive a Jewish education that makes sense for them.
Early Childhood and Parent Education – BJE supports schools and families working with children at the very beginning of their Jewish education.
Day School Education – BJE offers a wide range of support to full-time K-12 Jewish schools in Los Angeles.
Congregational Education – BJE provides programs and services to Religious Schools, Youth Groups and their professional staffs, that benefit more than 10,000 L.A. children and the hundreds of educators that serve them, fostering student learning and nurturing a love of Judaism.
Teen Experiential Education – For teens, BJE offers opportunities to take Jewish learning outside the classroom.
JKidLA is BJE’s web resource, designed to provide one place for families to get a comprehensive listing of the countless formal and informal Jewish educational opportunities and resources in greater Los Angeles. A JKidLA concierge is also available to parents seeking more personal guidance about their children’s Jewish education options. Contact Rachel Kaplan at 323-761-8624.
Adult/Young Adult Engagement – BJE supports the goal of lifelong Jewish learning through adult and young adult programming.
