Ziegler Israel Experience Scholarship
In partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, JFEDLA offers the Ziegler Israel Experience Scholarship, a need-based youth travel scholarship for families of teenagers seeking additional financial support to travel to Israel over the summer with a youth program. Who Qualifies?
To qualify for the Ziegler Israel Experience Scholarship, an applicant must:
Identify as Jewish.
Be a current high school student with a permanent address in the Greater Los Angeles area. Please refer to the Study of Jewish LA (p. 4) for details.
Be attending a youth program trip to Israel for the first time.
Demonstrate financial need through the application.
What Type of Trip Qualifies?
To be eligible for the Ziegler Israel Experience Scholarship, an applicant must be enrolled in a qualifying youth program trip. To qualify, a trip must:
Be sponsored and organized through an approved provider or program of study.
Spend between two weeks and four months in Israel
Cost at minimum $3,000, excluding airfare.
How Much Assistance Might I Receive?
Award amounts are calculated considering factors such as financial need, application content, total program cost, and time of submission. The maximum award will not surpass 50% of the program tuition cost.
