David Sternberg

David was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and a product of Herzlia, a Jewish school in Cape Town. David’s wife Shayna, is a native generational Angeleno, she attended Harkham Hillel and Shalhevet. David and Shayna have been members of Young Israel of Century City for 10+ years.

David and Shayna have two children, Sophie (6) and Benjamin (2), both attending Harkham Hillel. David was a member of Cape Town’s Community Security Organization (“CSO”) for 8 years. CSO is a voluntary Jewish security organization, protecting Jewish life and way of life in South Africa. David was a key member of the CSO’s leadership for many years.

Professionally, David is an Audit Partner at GHJ, a middle market CPA and consulting firm in LA. He has 20 years of public accounting experience providing audit, transactional and general business advisory services. David specializes in businesses backed by Private Equity Groups and Family Offices. His industry experience includes closely owned businesses operating in a wide variety of industries including entertainment, technology, food and beverage, retail, distribution, manufacturing and real estate. He is also versed in International Financial Reporting Standards and prior to joining GHJ, he worked for a Big Four firm.

David graduated with a business science degree, majoring in Finance and received a post-graduate diploma in Accounting, from the University of Cape Town. He is qualified as a CPA and Chartered Accountant.

Outside of his professional roles, David is a keen tennis player and enthusiast.
