BJE Builder Ami Berlin - Congregation Ner Tamid

Jewish education enables students to learn what Judaism means so that they can create their own Jewish identity and future.

For someone to be a Builder of Jewish education, they are not simply teaching, but are demonstrating a love and appreciation for Judaism and Jewish education to their students. Not only are they educating their students, but they are also creating a community for their students. They are teaching their students to embrace Judaism and to live and learn throughout their current and future Jewish lives.

Ami is a Builder of Jewish education because of the love, passion, and commitment she and all her teachers put into our school. The impact they make in our school extends beyond the walls of their classrooms. They welcome our students and their families into the community and help make each student feel a sense of Jewish belonging in our community.

In order to meet our school families and students where they are during this pandemic, our school has developed a variety of different types of programs and levels of engagement so that our families and students can create a plan that works for them. This year, we are using a school wide Sunday curriculum that is designed for use in the virtual arena.  Some of our other programs we have transformed to look entirely different. Our school has also been able to provide our families with meaningful activities and discussions that they can do together outside of class and school.

Ami Berlin is being recognized on February 5, 2021 at BJE's Out of the Box Gala.  Click here for more information.
