Rabbi Rebecca Schatz is the Associate Rabbi at Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles. Rabbi Schatz was ordained from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2017 with a concentration in Halakha. Rabbi Schatz received her Masters in Experiential Education from American Jewish University as well as her Bachelor in Choral Music Education before pursuing her rabbinic dream. During rabbinical school Rabbi Schatz interned at Peninsula Sinai Congregation in Foster City and Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles, where she was encouraged to build programming around life cycles such as b’nei mitzah, and create new opportunities for traditional holidays such as Shavuot and Purim or prayer experiences such as Shabbat Sovev. Rabbi Schatz directed PSC’s experiential religious school program, Kesher. Rabbi Schatz is currently the spiritual leader of Beiteinu, co-leader of our IKAR/TBA Hevra Kadisha, and oversees our Rembaum Institute adult-learning programs. Rabbi Schatz is blessed to teach Midrasha, engaging women in Torah Study, plan for B’Yachad and our 20/30’s programming, and other initiatives bringing new culture, learning and creativity to TBA.
